An Afternoon in Amalfi

Last Saturday, my dear friend Katie and I spent the afternoon in beautiful Amalfi. After missing our original ferry by a couple of minutes, we finally arrived in Amalfi around noon. I’ve traveled to cities along the Amalfi Coast and I have to say my favorite way to go is by ferry. The views from the ferry are astonishing from the lush mountains, the colorful buildings, to the glistening blue Mediterranean Sea. The sights from the water are always so breathtaking.

Once we arrived, we headed straight towards Antica Sartoria, a popular resort-clothing brand based in Positano, Italy. I always enjoy going to Antica Sartoria, they have the cutest “Moda Positano” beachwear clothing. The stores boast from handmade hats, embroidered cover-ups, and beautiful printed handbags. I always think of it as the Italian version of Lily Pulitzer meets Free People. I scored two festive earrings (the pom-pom earrings shown above/below).

After our mini shopping spree Katie wanted to pick out a few gifts for her family so we headed straight toward a ceramic store followed by a limoncello distillery. If you are ever in the Campania region of Italy, I highly recommend you go on a limoncello tasting. It’s this regions pride and joy as it is mostly produced on the Amalfi Coast. This yellow liqueur tastes so good and I am not someone who likes lemon flavored anything. (Perhaps I will do a limoncello tasting post?)

After we both picked up some goodies we headed to La Taverna del Duca for lunch. We both ordered the spaghetti alla carbonara and boy was it delicious! I will be sharing the second part of our afternoon next Tuesday so stay tuned! :)
