Welcome to New York

New York is one of those cities where whenever I visit I get this sense of “Honey I’m Home” feeling. Although it’s not home (yet!) the city always gives me the biggest greeting of life, spontaneity, culture, shopping, and yummy food. What more could a girl want? Although some people dislike the fast-paced lifestyle, I love it! I feel like the energy awakens something in me and I’m ready to go tackle the day ahead.

For our first day in NYC, I wore this Superdown Hiedi Drape Bodysuit, these my Express jeans (similar here), and my Birdies Songbird slippers. I accessorized the look with my Lennie Belt from Below the Belt and my Rebbeca Minkoff Vanity Saddle. True to my nature, the outfit was uber feminine, stylish, and comfortable. The perfect look for a relaxed time in my favorite US city.

We started our day with brunch at Refinery Rooftop. Located on the rooftop of the Refinery Hotel, Refinery Rooftop has some of the best views of the Empire State Building and Manhattan Skyline. Inside the bar and lounge has an upscale rustic feel that is charming and relaxed. The cocktails and food were AH-MAZING! My mom and I both ordered the Rose Margarita and for the table, we ordered the guacamole. The guac was very fresh and savory and even though we didn’t finish the appetizer, it made the perfect midnight snack. For my meal, I ordered the fish tacos with guajillo chilies, charred lime, slaw, spicy aioli. My mother decided on the Fried Chicken Sandwich with bacon butter, pickles, and a spicy hot sauce. Both meals were very delicious and we highly recommend them.

After brunch, we headed over to Bryant Park, the favored setting for movies and television productions and New York Fashion Week shows. Known as Manhattan’s town square, spring was in full bloom in Bryant Park. The tulips were tall and aerial and the infamous carousel made for an enchanting setting. If you are ever in NYC be sure to visit Bryant Park it’s absolutely beautiful.
