Relaxation in San Diego

Though spring is almost here, it still is a bit cold in St. Louis. However, my recent weekend getaway to Southern California was filled with warmth, sunny days, and relaxation. If you’re searching for a quiet and slow-paced city in California then I recommend staying or spending a day in Imperial Beach. It’s the southernmost beach town in California and is great for surfing, sport fishing, beach volleyball and horseback riding along the coast. The beautiful coastal town was perfect for celebrating my father’s 50th Birthday with family and friends.

Our first day in Imperial Beach was dedicated to rest and relaxation. We all slept in to mid-morning and after breakfast, we got dressed and explored the beautiful coastal town.

After exploring the local pier and beach, we ate lunch at Brigantine Seafood Restaurant. Conveniently located right under our condo (see above picture), Brigantine Seafood Restaurant is oh so yummy! In fact over the course of our trip, we enjoyed having brunch, lunch, and dinner there. Every dish was beautifully plated and tasted delicious. Our favorite dishes include shrimp and grits, lobster and crab omelet, oysters, jumbo crab cake, calamari, and fish tacos. For drinks, I recommend the millionaire margarita.

This bright printed orange FP dress was perfect for a relaxing day. The San Diego area is much cooler this time of year (but still incredibly warmer than most places) so I paired the dress with an old denim jacket (similar here and here) and comfy sneakers (similar here and here).
