Early in the morning after a long night of partying (When in Italy, Right? Haha) my friends and I took an hour-long ferry ride to Positano. We took the afternoon pretty easy, by having an early lunch at Hotel Marincanto. It started raining midway through our lunch so we ordered another round of Bellini’s and Mimosas and continued our idle chats. After the rain cleared and the sun began to beam again, we headed down into town for a little bit of exploring.
Positano quickly became my favorite town on the Amalfi Coast with its incredible charm and beauty. It is a very peaceful place and less touristy than other towns on the Amalfi Coast, allowing you to feel a little more at ease and free. When exploring Positano I highly recommend walking up through the cliff-side town. It’s a good workout but it is highly worth the climb since some of the best views of the Mediterranean Sea can be seen from up top.
After an hour or so of exploring we went to a local market, purchased two bottles of wine, a huge bag of cherries, and headed to the beach.
Once the bottle of wine and cherries were finished one of my friends suggested we go kayaking. I shared a kayak with my friend Rachel (far left). I must say we were pretty awesome considering out of our friends we were the only two girl pair and we had the crappiest kayak that kept filling itself with water. Kayaking in the Mediterranean was very enjoyable. We kayaked a good distance away from the beach and discovered and explored grottos and vacant beaches. At one point we all jumped into the freezing water and upon climbing back and getting settled in our kayaks, Rachel and my kayak flipped over causing us to fall back into the freezing water. It was a pretty great laugh for everyone including ourselves.
