Beautiful Ravello

On one of our free days, my friends and I arrived in Ravello in the late morning and started exploring the beautiful city. We had a few must-see spots on our agenda, but the rest we left up to chance. Situated above the Amalfi Coast, Ravello offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding mountains. Once we were finally able to tear ourselves away from the gorgeous views, we walked through the town to tour Villa Rufolo.

Villa Rufolo is one of the most popular places to see when traveling to southern Italy. The historic villa is full of beautiful gardens and panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast. When we arrived at the villa we were in awe of how insanely beautiful the property was. My favorite part of the property was the La Torre d’Ingress, the entrance of the property. Once you walk into the entrance you are met with a beautiful gothic-like gateway that leads you to a walkway surrounded by cypress, palm, and other evergreen trees. (I’m so sorry I did not capture this beauty).

Another charming part of the property is the upper (shown above) and lower gardens that are filled with an attractive array of colorful flowers.

By the time we finished touring Villa Rufolo our stomachs were begging for food (I’m pretty sure all I had to eat that day was a zeppole). lol Rachel had suggested we eat at Trattoria Pizzeria Cumna’ Cosimo, a restaurant her parents had recommended to us. Although I was highly impressed with the lasagna, I recommend ordering the sampler pasta dish that comes with a small portion of at least six different pasta flavors. My favorite was the pesto flavored.

Ravello was one of  my favorite cities I visited in Italy and can’t wait to explore more of this beautiful city in the upcoming years.

With Love,
